Late Professor Biru Chakraborty

Late Professor Biru Chakraborty was a visionary pioneer in the field of Indian music and cultural education. With a lifelong dedication to nurturing talent and promoting musical heritage, he founded Nikhil Bharat Parishad on 4th December 1982 with the mission of spreading music education across India and creating a structured examination system for aspiring students.

Through his leadership, the organization achieved national recognition for its commitment to preserving traditional music while embracing modern approaches to music learning and certification. In 1995, under his guidance, the institution was renamed Nikhil Bharat Sangeet Samiti (Kolkata), marking a new era of growth and a stronger vision for the future.

Even after his passing on 14th January 2001, Professor Chakraborty’s mission continues to inspire thousands of students and educators. His dedication laid the foundation for an organization that today stands as a beacon of excellence in music education.
